please dont remove it...
try it in BW, copy the building in a 2 separate layers, then darken the sky as much as you can, then work the others 2 layers with the flatiron one for the bright, other for the contrast, and blend the opacitys as you like!
One point of critique, though, I think the Flatiron building is just a little bit too dark, maybe if you lighten it up just a bit, you will get more detail as well.
Other than that, great job setting it apart from the surrounding buildings
Thanks a lot!! Thatkind of comments are very useful for me. For 2 reasons:
- I have to get diffrents points of view to improve my skill
- My TFT screen is very bright and I never know if my pics look too dark on other screens...
You're very welcome.
It's a great shot nonetheless, I used to have a similar shot in my gallery, but I think I put it in storage. That building is so wonderful and so interesting from different angles.
Flatiron Building (real name), 23rd Street. (no, not very far from Union Square, but really across the street from Madison Square Park).
This is a hard building to shoot, I think. I like how the clouds make a kind of smoke appearance at the top of the building in this photo.
