Shanghai during sunset

This was taken from the Meridien hotel. I went there at the end of the afternoon. The restaurant was closed but I found a lift in service, used by the staff. I went up and all of a sudden found myself facing the manager. I asked when the restaurant would open and if I could have a look around. She said yes and she then had a long phone call. I went to sit down in a couch. The lady forgot I was there and she switched off all the lights and closed the restaurant.. with me inside.. I stayed there for two hours, in the dark, watching the sun going down and all the city lights switching on, in an astonishing silence. It's hard to describe this moment, I was far above this anthill, in my quiet nest.

They finally opened the restaurant: I left, in silence; nobody saw me and nobody knew I was there..until now ;)

The buildings really must be high if you can get that high enough to see all of that. You'd never get me up there. At least not for a bet XD

What an experience that must have been. I think I would panic if I was left alone overnight in a public establishment... well other than a bookstore of course. :reading:

And such sharp detail in the photo! :wow:
